‘Aim High’

Safer School Initiative

We are delighetd to annouce that we have achieved the Safer School Initiative standard. This means we have been recognised for taking a responsible approach towards ensuring a safe and more secure environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. A working group of pupils, staff, parents, governors and representatives from Shropshire Council met to assess safety and security and have developed an action plan to ensure we continue to maintain high standards.

There have been several actions, some of which include, a member of staff on duty at the gate each morning to ensure the safety of children coming in and ensuring that the gate is closed at 8:50am; we have purchased stickers for our visitors to wear; and Dogs Trust have visted school and spoken to the children to give them ideas about keeping safe around dogs on our walks to and from Woodland School.
