Dormouse class Week Ending 7th November

After a great start to the new half term, we spent this week learning about the journey on the Bobo Road, eating different foods and looking at the patterns in the illustrations. We also began to talk about our Christmas Nativity performance and will continue to learn our songs and choose which character each person will be. We will let you know as soon as we can. We are always keen to reduce the need for families to provide new costumes and so have a number to use. 

Next week, we are reading the story Faster Faster Little Red Train. We will be role playing buying a ticket and travelling on the train. We are also beginning our work on programming a toy and will be using our Beebots to send them on a journey. In phonics, Nursery are continuing their work on rhyming and Reception are learning the sounds g o c k. We will also begin work on learning our new tricky words I and the.

In maths, Nursery are continuing their work on counting, making sure that we count slowly, in order and not missing out any objects when we count. Our rhyme is This Little Piggy. Reception are looking at ways to make 5 by adding and taking away.
