Hedgehog Class Blog Week ending 19th September
Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 3:44pm
We've had another busy and exciting week in Hedgehog Class!
Maths:
In Maths, Year 3 and 4 have been diving into place value, focusing on 3 and 4 digit numbers. We've been using practical activities to help us understand the value of each digit and how to represent numbers in different ways.
English:
Our writing has taken us back in time to the stone age, where we created some fantastic cave descriptions! The children have been using expanded noun phrases and a wide range of adjectives to bring their writing to life. We,ve also been exploring verbs and adverbs to make our sentences even more powerful.
Science:
In science, we began our work on rocks by coming up with our own ways to classify them- based on colour, texture and appearance. It was brilliant to see the children thinking scientifically and working together to sort and describe their examples.
Topic:
In history, we learned about the stone age way of life, including the idea of diets and how early humands were nomads and hunter-gatherers. The children asked some great questions and were fascinated by how different life was in the past!
PE:
To top it all off, we had a fantastic Tag Rugby session on the field with Mr Nogy. The class loved running around, learning new skills and showing great teamwork.
Well done, Hedgehogs - Keep up the brilliant work!
