Our trip to Chester zoo!

Date: 7th Oct 2026 @ 7:53am

We had the most amazing trip yesterday to Chester Zoo! Our topic this term is "We're going on safari" so we have been learning all about the continent Africa, including the animals that live there and their habitats. We had a fantastic workshop called "The hungry five" and had a tour of the "Heart of Africa" area at the zoo, learning lots of interesting facts along the way. It was amazing to hear all of the wonderful things that Red Squirrel's have learnt so far in our topic, which they readily shared with the zoo staff. We saw so many animals, some from Africa and some from other continents around the world. Well done to Year 1 and 2 for their incredible behaviour and overall enthusiasm on our trip, you were a credit to yourselves and the school. Special thank you to Mrs Bowden, Mrs Nagy and Mr Hartley for volunteering yesterday. We really appreciated all of your help!
