Another busy week for us squirrels!

In English we continued to look at the story "Katie in London" and wrote a recount for our writing journals. Year 1 included exciting verbs and adjectives in their recount and Year 2 used expanded noun phrases and adverbs.

In Maths, Year 1 completed  their unit of work looking at numbers 0 - 5. We found one more and one less of these numbers using a "number staircase" and used bar models to partition them in different ways.

In Science, we looked at different objects around the room and considered why they were made of that specific material. We got to choose our own objects and describe why the material it was made from was best suited for its purpose.

In RE, we learnt all about "Shabbat" the day of rest for Jewish people. We drew a picture to represent something that Jewish people do during Shabbat. This linked nicely to our previous unit of work on the creation story as we found out that God resting on the 7th day is where jewish people got the idea of Shabbat from.

In PSHE, we talked about how we can stretch our learning in order to challenge ourselves!

In Topic, we found out all about life in London in 1666! We watched a video that took us on a tour of London and discussed how different life is today!

We are also planning our class worship for Monday. Our worship focuses on the idea of using resilience when trying new things!

Have a lovely weekend everyone! :)
