Hello everyone!
What a fantastic first week we have had back at school! The children have settled in really well and are learning all about the routines in our classroom.
In our English we went outside to find a stick and turned it into something else! Some of us turned our stick into umbrellas, magic pencils, wands and even a bow and arrow! We wrote some simple sentences about our sticks, practicing our capital letters and full stops.
In Maths, Year 1 are beginning to explore numbers to 100. We played a game using our hundred squares and have been doing lots of counting! Year 2 are recapping on counting in 10s are recognising how groups of 10 make a multiple of 10.
In Topic, we have started to look at transport and put some pictures into order from the earliest transport to the newest.
We have started to look at rewards and consequences in PSHE and talked about how we can work as a team to make our classroom a positive place to be.
We finished our week with a trip to the woods which linked nicely with our learning in RE where we are exploring the creation story. We went on a hunt in the woods to find all of the natural materials that the creator of the world made.
Have a fantastic weekend everybody!
Miss Anderson :)
