‘Aim High’

It has been a VERY busy week this week in Red Squirrel class and the children have been incredible. With so much going on, our behaviour has been exemplary and I could not be prouder of you all.

On Monday we had our project afternoon. Thank you so much to all those that attended and to you all for your hard work putting them together. I am always astounded by the range of project that we receive and how fantastically the children talk about them. It was a great afternoon.

On Tuesday we went on our trip top RAF Cosford. Although the weather was terrible, nothing could dampen our spirits! We started the day with a brilliant workshop all about "flying through the ages." We then walked around the museum, learning about all of the different planes. We got to go inside a cockpit and experience what it would be like to be a pilot!

On Thursday we went the pantomime to watch Dick Whittington and his Cat. It was a superb performance as always and maybe my favourite one yet! The children loved it and spoke so excitedly about it on the way home.

On Friday we had two rehearsals for our Christmas play. It was a busy day, with lots of sitting and listening, as well as singing but Red Squirrels were exceptional as always!

With all of these exciting things going on, we did manage to squeeze in some learning too! In English we learnt about letter writing. We wrote letters to our friend Eryn in the Falkland Islands, wishing her a Merry Christmas.

In Maths, Year 1 began to compare objects using symbols <  > =. Year 2 solved some problems involving addition and subtraction, using the methods that we have been learning about.

In Topic, we completed an end of unit activity to show off all of the wonderful things that we have learnt about "amazing adventures."

In DT, we did the last finishing touches to our vehicles, ready to take home next week!

Next week is busy again! We have two performances of our Christmas play on Monday 2:30 and 5:30. On Tuesday it is Christmas jumper and dinner day. On Thursday we have our Christmas party in the afternoon and Friday our church service in the church.

Have a fantastic weekend everybody!
