Week beginning 12th May
Date: 9th May 2025 @ 10:12pm
Towards the end of another busy week, it was so important for our class to reflect on the celebrations of VE Day. It was good to join our friends in school around the tree for two minutes silence and to sing our VE Day song. Our Clay poppies are drying nicely and will be ready to paint early next week.
Next week, we continue our topic work on water by reading Billy's Bucket. This is a book based around imagination and we will be thinking about what could be in our bucket.
In phonics, Nursery, will be working on alliterative words based around marine animals and Reception willl be using and applying their phonics knowledge in captions and sentences. Can I recommend Alphablocks as a way to rehearse our sounds.

Identifying groups of objects. We will be using our tens frames to represent this.
We are continuing our work in the garden and hopefully our kidney beans will be ready to plant out on Thursday. We have already planted pea seeds and wait eagerly for them to grow along with Kale and Beetroot.
This week, the postman delivered our caterpillar eggs and already they have hatched and we have growing caterpillars. We can't wait for them to continue through their lifecycle to turn into butterflies.
Reception have another swimming lesson on Monday and we are excited to continue making progress.
