We have really enjoyed our week. This week, we have explored and learned about the story of the Gingerbread Man. Next week, our story will be The Little Red Hen. We will be learning about different breads from around the world and sequencing the story. We will also be acting out the story using props and voices and using our outdoor kitchen and house in the courtyard to role play.
In phonics, Nursery are learning about oral blending and segmenting simple words and reception will be using the sounds x y z to blend and segment words.
In maths, nursery will be learning to count one to one a group of objects, remembering that the last number we say tells us how many there are. Reception will be partitioning amounts of objects. This is when, for example, we are able to show different ways to make 5 or 10 using cubes. These are called number bonds.
Next week, we will begin to work towards our RSPB Big bird count by making bird feeders. We were excited to see a bird checking our bird box by the Solner Room and hope that they will move in.
