Week Beginning 1st September

Hello all

I hope that you are all having a fantastic Summer. Mrs Kenning and I are looking forward to welcoming you all to the Autumn Term. We have another exciting term planned. Details of our planning will be on our website under the class heading Dormouse, where you will find, throughout the term, additional information.

Each week, you will receive a blog detailing what we will be learning during the week. This is a chance to talk to your child about what they have learned and to develop key vocabulary at home. Any questions or queries, please get in touch with school via Mr Watts in the office or speak to me on the gate.

For our first week, we will be finding out about each other, learning new names and routines. We will be learning about how important listening is and finding out what is a good listener. We will be looking at our faces and naming key features and learning how to draw a picture of our faces.

In phonics, Reception will be exploring our At the Farm book and making up sentences about the pictures and Nursery will be learning the rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep.

In maths, Reception will be learning about subitising, showing small amounts on our fingers and Nursery will be using our rhyme for the week to show 1 2 and 3 objects.

We are starting slowly this week and so won't have PE or Woodland School. Instead, we will have our first walk together to get to know our area.

Pre loved school uniform for Reception children, will be available on 1st September at school. We look forward to beginning the term on Wednesday 2nd September.
