‘Aim High’

Week Beginning 23rd February

Date: 16th Feb 2026 @ 1:16pm

Thank you for all your support during the last half term. We had so much learning taking place and some amazing work produced. It was lovely to be able to share this with parents at parents evening. Thank you for your support with our projects. The children worked so hard and it was good to see them share this with our visitors.
Next half term, we move on to the topic of People who Help us. We will begin by thinking about people who help us in school. This is an important starting point as we establish trusted adults both in the classroom and out on the playground and who we can go to if we need first aid.
On Monday, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year, with whole school activities. We will join with our house groups and older children and move around the classes to give everyone a chance to meet new people and learn more about this celebration.
In phonics, next week, nursery will be listening carefully to segment words. Reception with be learning the new phonemes - cks, tch and nk along with continuing to learn our tricky words.
In maths, nursery are learning to subitise small amounts of objects - being able to recognise a group of 3 or 4 without counting. Reception will be represent amounts by using 5as a starting place. For example 5 and 3 more for 8.
Enjoy the rest of the half term break.
