Week Beginning 23rd March
Date: 20th Mar 2026 @ 8:07am
As we approach our last week of the term, we have been reflecting on just how far the children have come. It is always a delight to see their progress, from being able to write our own names to writing full sentences using our new phonics, from interacting with our friends and developing full oral sentences to expressing our thoughts and feelings through music, art and drama.
Next week, we have our Easter Journey Day, a time to dig deeper into this celebration. We will be joined by our favourite Teddy Horsley.
We will also be learning about memory skills by focusing on games and puzzles. This will support future learning and strategies. We will be focusing on the game Granny went to market.
Nursery are revisiting rhyming and in particular we are looking at the structure of words that makes them rhyming (the end sounds). Reception will be learning our new phonemes air and er.
In maths, Nursery are rehearsing subitising and using this in more and fewer sentences.
Reception will be revisiting counting but this time learning strategies for counting things that we can't touch such as sounds and actions.
Have a lovely weekend
