Week Beginning 24th November

Hello everyone.

We have had another busy but great learning week. Next week, we continue our topic of journeys and will be reading The Great Explorer. We will be learning geographical terms to describe different environments such as mountains, coast, beach and will be using globes and map books to explore these areas around the world. 

In phonics, Nursery will be learning the rhyme Five Little ducks and we will be learning about initial letter sounds, listening out for the phoneme that we can hear at the beginning of a word. Reception are moving on to learn the sounds h b f ff and using these phonemes along with the tricky words the I and no to write short phrases.

In maths, we have assessment week and so along with our regular learning we will be reviewing what we have learned and what we need to revisit.

We have all begun to learn about the Beebots, a programmable toy. Next week, we will be practising giving the beebot instructions to follow, using our arrows that we learned about a couple of weeks ago. 

As part of our food preparation, we will be learning how to make a smoothie next week, using the ingredients, frozen strawberries, bananas and apple juice. Please let me know if there are any concerns about your child tasting these.
