Week Beginning 29th June
Date: 26th Jun 2026 @ 6:44pm
Despite being exceptionally hot, everyone has coped really well and have been so resilient in the heat. Well done to all Dormice!
We had a fantastic afternoon in the village hall learning about different jobs in the Little City. Thanks to Mrs Locket we also learned all about being a vet.
Next week, we will start the week with our rearranged sports morning on Monday.
Our text for next week will be From Caterpillar to Butterfly. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching our caterpillar eggs hatch and turn into chrysalises. We have had two butterflies emerge and have released those into the meadow behind school. We will be learning about life cycles and using our knowledge from last week to draw and label the lifecycle of a butterfly.
In phonics, Nursery will be talking about our new book At the Concert and will be composing sentences to describe what we can see. Reception children will be building new words using our phase 3 phonics and spelling words, including our tricky words.
In maths, Nursery will be learning and using vocabulary to sequence time events. After, then, before. Reception will be continuing our work on doubles and looking at the relationship with this and our work on odds and evens.
Have a lovely, hopefully cooler weekend.
