Week Beginning 7th September
Date: 4th Sep 2026 @ 5:07pm
What a fantastic first week we have had, so much learning and so many new friends to play with. It has been lovely to see our new friends learning our routines so quickly and joining in with all of our activities.
Next week, we begin to explore all about us and we will be reading the book Super Duper You. We are going to make a simple fact file about ourselves, writing our names and drawing pictures of ourselves and our families.
In phonics, Nursery will be learning the rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle and Reception will be exploring our At the farm book, composing sentences using describing words and actions. Next Friday, we have our parents workshop starting at 11.00, to talk more about our reading, maths and other important parts of our day. Please feel free to stay for as little or as much of the day as you would like. Following that workshop, Reception will begin to bring reading books home.
In maths, Nursery will be learning about positional language - where is the missing spoon in the rhyme? Reception will be learning about counting and the importance of saying each number in order.
PE will be on Monday and Wednesday. Please could children come to school in their PE kits. Woodland school/outdoor learning will be on Thursday, so please bring wellies, waterproof trousers/jackets. Sometimes we can get muddy so please be aware of this when sending items in.
Have a lovely weekend.
