Week Ending 19th September
Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 5:24pm
Once again we have had a fantastic week with so much learning. Thank you to those who were able to come to the phonics workshop. If you weren't able to make it and would like more information please see Mr Watts or myself for more information.
Next week, our book is We're going on a bear hunt. We will be thinking about geographical features that the hunt travels through like swishy swashy grass and a deep cold river. We will also be acting out the story and retelling it through words and pictures. We will also be removing our shoes and socks and feeling different textures using our feet.
For phonics, Nursery will be learning the rhyme 5 little monkeys. We will use this rhyme in our maths work too. Thinking about counting one to one and learning about what 5 looks like.
Reception will be looking at the text Out in Town. We are beginning to compose sentences to describe what we can see, what we would hear and what the characters might be thinking. We are also moving on to look at our next set of sounds g o c k.
Once again, Alphablocks has some excellent episodes to watch.
Alphablocks - Series 2: 5. Dog - BBC iPlayer
Alphablocks - Series 2: 6. Cat - BBC iPlayer
In maths, reception are looking at patterns of numbers for example arrangements of five blocks and establishing that it is still 5 even when we move them.
We are excited to be starting our cooking again next week and will be starting off with Bear Hunt Crumble! (Apple crumble) A list of ingredients has been sent. Any problems please let me know.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Watts
