Worm charming!

Date: 15th May 2026 @ 10:14am

We went on an exciting worm charming adventure this week! We learnt all about how worms love damp soil and will tunnel their way through it, going deep underground. To get the worms up, we found out that you have to make lots of noise above ground to create vibrations in the soil which attract the worms to the surface. We used musical instruments, stomped our feet and clapped our hands. Some of us even made low noises close to the ground. We managed to charm more than 10 worms to the top! We recognised that it was the perfect day for worm charming, because it had rained in the morning so the soil was nice and damp.
