Eco Committee

Eco Committee is going from strength to strength.

Each week, we meet as a committee and discuss areas that we want to develop within school. We also have guests who join us for our meeting including a video call from Miss Watts in Zanzibar to talk to us about her work with turtles and dolphins.

We have begun to put together our action plan for the rest of the year and chosen our projects to focus on. These are:

Litter - We hope to have litter pickers that can be borrowed by families in the first instance and later members of the public to use as they walk around our local area.

Water - We will be looking at our water usage in school through an audit and will be promoting careful water usage at home by sending out information to families and our local community.

Healthy Living - We are in conversation with our cook at Prees about how we can promote healthy options for lunches, including promoting meat free alternatives.

Marine - We will be learning more about the impact of our actions herre in Shropshire on the coast and sea that we love to visit. 

We have met with Miss Anderson from Red Squirrel class to find out how sustainable and environmental projects are taught. This includes next term's topic called Countryside to Coast. We will be meeting with Ms Butler and Miss Cordey after half term.
